Approved Training Provider Scheme

The CIHT approved training provider scheme enables CIHT Members and other professionals to access, identify and undertake appropriate training courses that meet a high standard.

CIHT Approved status is a mark of quality that the Institution awards to training providers and teaching centres who meet the CIHT standards for training content and delivery.

All events delivered by CIHT Regions are also Approved for CPD.

How to qualify for the Approved Training Provider Scheme

To qualify as an approved training provider, organisations will be required to fulfill the minimum criteria and standards outlined below

CIHT Approved Training Provider Standards

Below are the minimum standards that a provider must meet to obtain CIHT Approved Training Provider (ATP) status.

  1. Sector relevant
    Content of training programs and CPD activities must focus in some aspect, on developing skills and knowledge in planning, design, building or managing transport and infrastructure.
  2. Quality training
    Training programs and CPD activities must be delivered by qualified specialists using a wide range of learning methods to meet the various needs of their learners.
  3. Impactful learning
    Learning must be supported by relevant content, of which impact can be measured and evaluated.
  4. Satisfactory Management Process
    Approved Training Providers must have data management systems in place to ensure the protection of all their delegates information and where appropriate, adequate safeguarding arrangements.
