As we have now passed the first official day of autumn, it seems appropriate to reflect on a very busy summer at CIHT. August is our free upgrade month where CIHT waives the transfer fee to offer all grades of membership the opportunity to upgrade their CIHT membership. This year, CIHT has surpassed previous records by electing a record number of 87 Fellows over this period and electing 139 members across all grades.

We strive for a more diverse and equal Fellowship, with new Fellows being elected from 12 different regions of the UK, including Northern Ireland. A further 22 new Fellows were elected from Australia, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Brunei, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Ireland and United Arab Emirates. Sixteen per cent of the new Fellows are women. At the age of 29, Robert Fleetwood, working as a Transport Technology Consultant, based at Atkins in East Sussex, has been elected one of the youngest ever CIHT Fellows, joining a group of three Fellows to be elected under the age of 30.
A number of those who have been elected also joined CIHT as student or associate members showing the value of CIHT membership and the support it can offer throughout your career.
These new Fellows of CIHT join a community of ambitious innovators who have made a significant contribution to their profession.
“On behalf of CIHT, I’m pleased to congratulate all of the members who have been recognised by their peers through their election as CIHT Fellows,” said CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy. “It’s particularly gratifying to see that so many of the Fellows elected are women and from such a wide range of different locations and backgrounds. Increasing diversity across our membership is a priority for CIHT and it will be a central component of our imminent new strategic plan.”
We would also like to congratulate the 42 Members, nine graduates and one associate who have also been elected.
