Entry criteria

Judges are looking for apprentices who have made a difference to the organisation they work in and the wider industry. This will be measured according to the following criteria:

1. Managing Change – How have you embraced the challenge of a demanding work placement and study programme in the changing landscape of highways and transportation? What skills have you applied to achieve this?
2. Commitment & Contribution – How have you gone above and beyond what was expected of you in your role on one or more specific projects or initiatives?
3. Future – How do you plan to contribute to the sector in the coming years?

Judging and interviews: November (dates to be confirmed)
Winner announced: EPC 2024

Judging

A panel of judges drawn from the industry will review each entry for evidence of excellence across the three entry criteria to determine the winner of the CIHT Apprentice of the Year Award.

The judges will identify a shortlist of finalists who will be invited for a short interview to give them the opportunity to speak about their experience as an apprentice. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a five-minute presentation.

The winner will be announced at the Emerging Professionals' Conference.
